Charm Bracelet EXPLOSION

I must say BEST FABRIC EVER!!!!

I am calling it "charm bracelet explosion". I was sold when I saw there was a pair of scissors on it, and then I found the unicorn charm. It's silk, and I made some scarves out of my sample yardage. I purchased the rest from the jobber at the Seattle show, and am eagerly awaiting it's arrival.

I have a few of my photos from the shoot back, but am going to wait to post them all entire I have the entire set. I have one style already out and in stores. Ok screw it, here is the style I have out (the yellow print one):

I have stared sewing the hardest garment next. Well it's not that hard, but it is the most time consuming, and I have the most orders for it. I hope to chomp through a lot of it this weekend. Time for bed, I'm on hour 15 of my work day.

Attempting to step outside my own box....a little.

Yesterday Carter (click this to see her esty store) and I made a day trip up to Seattle for the NW Fabric Show. I was excited because one of my favorite jobbers was there, and I totally scored some super sweet fabrics for late Summer/Fall. I also decided to step out of my box a little and get some silks. The prints on them are amazing, and I just got enough to do a few garments and see how people react to them. I am also going to delve into a bit of scarf making. Not the winter variety, the lovely tie in your hair, and around your neck kind.

I realized that I haven't been much for posting photos lately. That is because my poor camera is on the fritz. Hopefully it's something simple, like a bad battery. I will investigate today

Off to sewing spring, which should be in stores this week. Please support your local economy, and SHOP LOCAL!

Busy weekend

I have been a bit of a slacker on posting things. I have been super busy with Spring sampling and getting everything ready for Sweet F.A. I am SO excited for that tomorrow night. It is the best fashion show in PDX if not EVER. This is the 5th year I have participated in it. Which makes me feel both proud and a bit old. Ha ha. I also gave my models some props. I hope they make it into the show choreography and look cool. It's a secret what they are.

On Sunday I have my photo shoot for Spring. I'm really excited about it. I am going with simpler backgrounds. I have a hard time with Spring, since I am not really much of a fan of pastels, nor fond of spring time. But I am pretty happy with what I have put together, and love the fabrics.

In 2 weeks I am going to the Seattle fabric show. My goal is to find some good sweater knits for fall. Some of my favorite jobbers will be there, which is letting me not need to go to Vegas this year.

R.I.P. Muku

1996?-1/6/2009

I am beyond sad, and have a huge hole in my heart right now. I feel lucky that I had almost 10 years with him. He was so amazing that he doesn't almost seem real. We did several years of volunteer work together at a care home, and I don't think I will ever stop missing his sweet little self cuddling with me every night.

Happy New Year!

I don't really have too much new or exciting stuff to post. I've been working on my Spring/Summer collection. No photos yet, since I'm still doing samples. Being snowed in for over a week really put a damper on me getting anything done. I've also had family in town, a very sick Muku (think good thoughts for him), holidays, and not driving for 2 weeks since I don't know how to drive in the snow/ice.

I made some custom garments for the most lovely jewelery designer I met at my last trunk show. I got a fabulous bow necklace from her. Check out her website if you have a moment.
