Party! Party! Party!
It's been a week, and I'm still celebrating that it's been 5 years in business. Not only for me, but Union Rose!
They have a party going Saturday night. I'll be there for sure. 25% off the ENTIRE store, plus wear something you bought there and get an additional 10% off.

Also, in party news, here are all the photo booth images from last week at the Fez. If you were there here is the link

And here are some of my favorites. Thanks again for all the love and support, and here's to the next 5!

Bryce Black on Kickstarter
This spring I had the pleasure to meet Bryce Black sharing a tradeshow room at Portland Market. We had a giggly fun time, and found out we had quite a few things in common. He's a totally funny and kind person, not to mention a fantastic designer.
Right now he's got a Kickstarter up to do his first solo collection. One of the things we both love are unicorns. So I had no problem throwing show cash money his way to fund this dream when he lured me with a unicorn shirt. Hello!
Starting a line is hard work, lots of money, a even more time. I'm happy to support such a talented person, and suggest you do too. I mean come on, UNICORN SHIRT!
Bryce Black Kickstarter.
I believe in Bryce Black, and unicorns.

Portland Monthly Magainze: Spring Fashion 2012
So like I've said, I'm not really sure where the first five months of the year went. I've been crazy busy, but the majority has been fun.
One of the many things I neglected to post about was being on the April 2012 Portland Monthly Magazine.
Here's a cute video about the shoot itself.
I'm lucky that I know the photographer, Brenden Coughlin, who's also my neighbor in my studio building. So I have the hook up with nice fancy photo, aka, not the one my Dad took with his cell phone of the spread.

And here's after color up, courtesy of Google Image Search.
I think this ranks as #2 most exciting thing about making clothes. #1 most exciting thing is seeing people I don't know wearing something from my line. That will never ever get old.

This summer is going to be amazing!
I know it's not even June yet, but I'm so excited about all of the fun things that are going to be happening this summer!
Well first off I'm planning the "fashion" part of my photos with Sarah Giffrow my long time photographer. We are bringing back the Portland Entrepreneuresses series, and working on scheduling everyone. Should be fun, but it does make for an extra long day of shooting and traveling. But I am very excited to feature some more rad lady small business owners.
MEMORIAL DAY!
Aside from fostering dogs with Hopes Haven, I also volunteer with Newberg Animal Shelter Friends helping with fundraising and social media. A friend and I have been working hard on a fundraiser - Pets Uncorked, where wineries area donating 10% of their tasting room fees over the Memorial Day weekend. So if you are out and about in wine country, please stop by both Duck Pond and Terra Vina (both locations). There are also a handful of wineries putting out donation boxes to help raise additional funds. Please follow construction progress on the shetler here:

JULY!
Tentative date of Friday 7/6 for the Clair Vintage Inspired 5 year anniversary party! So excited and I can hardly believe I've been doing the line for an entire 5 years. But then again I can't imagine not since I love it so much. The theme is "Pretty Dress Party", and there will be dancing. More details to come as I'm firming things up this week.
A very big 5th HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my #1 dress emporium Union Rose. This should also be a fantastic party, and I believe a little bird told me that things will be going on both 7/21 and 7/22. More details soon.
Alley 33 Fashion Show! I am so excited for this, and to see the work of so many other local Portland designers. The gals that put this on did an amazing job last year, that I was like dancing in my seat when I got an e-mail about it again this spring. Also, Elizabeth Mollo will be back stage, and I want to do any show she's working on.
AUGUST!
Pink Carpet Project a benefit for Planned Parenthood on 8/2. I'm pleased to be a part of this. As you may know breast cancer runs heavily in my family. It took my Grandmothers life when I was very young, and my Aunt is a strong 2x survivor. I was appalled when Komen pulled funding to Planned Parenthood. (I may or may not have written several nasty letters and helped bomb the Komen facebook page). This show will be a great way to raise some money for women in need. Needless to say to also see some other lovely designers.
Other than that there is one other plan.
SWIMMING. Which already happened on the one rare 90 degree day we had in May. It was freezing, so the water can't do anything but get warmer. Right? That's myself (left) and Rita of Hubris Apparel (right) BRRR!

Current foster dog cuteness
Meet our latest foster dog Riley, or also known as Bird. He's naked and the hair he does have is bird-like, and he makes nests out of blankets. He was found in a dumpster with another little fellow (now at a rehab shelter), and he's naked! No one is 100% on what made his hair fall out, other than it's not contagious. Our job is to get him from 4lbs to 6lbs (we are at 5.25!!), and get that hair growing.
He's pretty chilly a lot of the time, and a messy eater so we've been going through doggie clothing fast. I figured out that if I get newborn onesies and then cut the butts off they make perfect little shirts.
The little due has no clue he's naked, and loves to play.
This is him playing in the yard. I'm sure he'll be adopted super fast once that hair grows in.
